summer dreaming

Now the winter solstice has passed I have convinced myself it's basically summer again, and with the gorgeous sunny days we have been having in Sydney lately, mother nature seems to be doing little to convince me otherwise. As a result my legs and toes have been turning blue with all the shorts, skirts and open-toed sandals that have been crawling their way out of my wardrobe. However, I am loving every second!
As a result I thought I would leave you for the weekend with a gorgeous shoot from the July 2011 issue of Spain Marie Claire.
Happy summer dreaming X

cut it out

Have become intrigued with the latest trend of shirts and jackets with cut-out backs!
Now I am not talking about the little peep hole type that have been gracing our stores for a few seasons ,(although these have a place in my heart also) I'm talking about the type that look like a massive chunk has been bitten out of your back by a great white shark....
Thinking since I have really only seen it on style blogs I may have to do a little DIY on some jackets at home - I'll let you know how I go.

asos anonymous

I have to admit that shopping on Asos is like opening a packet of Pringles... once you pop you just can't stop!
I recently purchased an amazing kimono kaftan dress for a friend's fast approaching wedding in Bali. The purchase was easy to justify as I couldn't turn up to wedding naked, could I? And well it made sense that I needed a ring to wear with said dress....
However, now I have no excuses two pair of lust worthy shoes purchased for no reason other than the love only three weeks before I head to Bali and well into my "I am not spending, I am saving for my holiday mode." However, I am utterly delighted knowing these beautiful pieces of foot art are on their way to my door - Asos I have a feeling this is the start of a gorgeous love affair and with free shipping to Australia I feel it will continue for a lifetime!

latest obsession

I received an email a few days ago introducing a new range of jewellery by the name of Fiel Sol.
From the second I entered their site I was totally spellbound! The designs are a captivating collection of bohemian silver wear and gorgeous bright stones.
I want it all! And, I want it now!
I have a huge feeling this Australian label are going to be huge as their design aesthetic I think will really speak to the hippie in all of us and with prices in the $30 - $100 range they are super affordable!
LOVE X

friday parties... arm parties that is

I am in love with the latest trend of stacking braclets, bangles and ropes so far up your arm that they nearly reach your elbow! It has been seen on catwalks, blogs, style pages and was everywhere during Australian Fashion Week.
Here are a few of my faves from some of my most loved blogs (with links) as well as my own muted casual Friday interpretation..

The Man Repeller, A Pair and a Spare, The Man Repeller
Dannijo, Oracle Fox, The Man Repeller

...And here is my attempt at an arm party!

repeller? noooo

Ok so at the moment I have SERIOUS style envy! And its not coming from a catwalk or look book....
The Man Repeller Blog is one of the quirkiest blogs I read and I find the "repelling" posts not only funny but extremely inspirational. Its all about taking fashion risks and layering, layering, layering!

The man repeller blog describes a man repeller with the below dictionary meaning:

man·re·pell·er1[mahn-ree-peller]

–noun
outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive way that will result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls (see: human repelling), shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewelry that resembles violent weaponry and clogs.
–verb (used without object),-pell·ing, -pell·ed.
to commit the act of repelling men:
Girl 1: What are you wearing to the party?
Girl 2: My sweet lime green drop crotch utility pants!
Girl 1: Oh, so we're man repelling tonight?
*DISCLAIMER: the above conversation is not a dramatization, took place in this room 5 minutes ago.
LOVE IT!

Here are some of my fave images of the man repeller extraordinaire,
